The videos on this website were created to help you develop or improve your Coptic literacy skills. They provide explicit instruction on Coptic letter names and their most common sounds, letter combination sounds, and blended letter sounds. The videos are also posted on social media, including Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
The Language
Coptic is a language from Egypt. Currently, it is used in Coptic Orthodox churches around the world. Although there are different varieties of the Coptic language, Bohairic Coptic is the variety used by churches today. There are also different variations of Bohairic Coptic. The videos on this website use the Greco-Bohairic variation.
The Educator
Nicole is a PhD student in bilingual education. She was a high school teacher for seven years and was the recipient of the Graduate Award for Excellence in Bilingual/ESL Studies when she earned her MEd.
